In November our focus is Habit 4! Think Win Win

7 Habits Quotes
Think Win-Win

“What do we live for, if it is not to make life less
difficult for each other?” ~George Eliot

“You don’t have to blow out the other person’s light to let
your own shine.”
~Bernard M. Baruch

“One of the biggest things that I have learned is that I
don’t always have to be right.” ~Jeffrey Swartz

Win-win sees life as a cooperative arena, not a competitive one. Win-win is a frame of mind and heart that constantly seeks mutual benefit in all human interactions. Win-win means agreements or solutions are mutually beneficial and satisfying. We both get to eat the pie, and it tastes pretty good!

Leader In Me

North Elementary School began implementing the Leader in Me Program in 2017. Please encourage your children to practice the SEVEN HABITS at home! We have seen so much growth in our school community as we continue to build our new school foundation on these 7 Habits.

We started this journey focusing on only a few areas at a time. Teachers and staff worked as a team (synergize) to give our school a face lift. They painted their doors and classrooms, bought welcome mats, decorated with plants, and updated bulletin boards. We have also let students take the lead on announcements, directing school performances and awards as well as our SYNERGY ASSEMBLIES. Our students - even the older ones - have embraced the 7 Habits because they just make sense and when given time the practice of these habits just makes life a lot easier. Many of you probably practice these habits but for students sake they have been given a name.

I hope that you will all take the time to read about being a Leader In Me school and what it could mean for our students and families at North Elementary!
